View Full Version : 2 Major WWE DVD Titles Dropped from 2011 Schedule
Source: WWEDVDNews.com
We can exclusively reveal that two major 2011 WWE DVD sets (planned for at least the past 4 months), have been removed from the schedule.
Raw: The Best of Seasons 3 & 4 is no longer incoming for this year, reason being it’s being replaced due to low sales of the first “Beginning” volume which covered 1993/1994.
Word from WWE is all Raw seasons will one day get “Best of” style releases but for now there won’t any new additions to the series. This is quite shocking since WWE had plans in place to release a new volume once annually.
Triple H‘s new DVD/Blu-ray set has also been removed. Rather than being outright canceled this one is postponed as of now until sometime in 2012. The reason for this is unknown but do expect to see a new HHH release sooner rather than later.
Note: These aren’t rumors, this is confirmed via WWE themselves. There are many other amendments too including a few new additions and various release date switches. Stay tuned to the site over the coming days for the exclusive scoop.

A shame really for those who bought the Season 1 & 2 set.

Yeah that does seem a shame, I still think if they had released it complete it would have had better sales, "Best Of" complilations very rarely have fantastic sales, not just in wrestling but in general, which is why they usually get released around Xmas time to maximise profit.
As for the Triple H one, meh, not bothered if that ever gets released...

WWE fault at end of day had it been complete they would of sold better. People dont want Best of Vince they want it complete.

I gotta agree here.
Vince should have known from the beginning that was never going to take off, with the amount of copyrighted material (ring entrances, celebrity appearances), ex employees he no longer wants to promote (Luger, Jarrett), there was no way this could have appealed to many the way it was presented.
The Triple H one, I can understand. He's been out a couple of times since his last DVD came out, so there'll need to be some time to build a few matches to put on the collection.

Survivor Series Anthology 3 & 4....
just sayin'.

I've never and probably wont buy any of the Mania/Slam/SvS Anthology sets - only for the reason that WWE is seemingly going to live on until the end of time (lol), so there never will actually be a full set of events as the collections grow all the time.
Much better to buy them individually I reckon.

They should just release the complete seasons and I'm sure they would sell but no lets sell only the best because I'm Vince McMahon and I know what you viewers want. If you know what I like you would bring back the Attitude Era not that PG C*** you are selling nowadays.

Seriously!!! I was thinking the same thing this past Survivor Series. Why would they plan this out for 4 volumes and then almost seemingly drop the set. I wonder what's the hold up is?! It can't be because of the Montreal Survivor Series I don't think?!?

Whats the big deal about those 2 sets anyway?
And this sucks for Raw, I really liked the best of 93/94 set, was just nice to see the stuff in crystal clear, since I cant watch any the shit on WWE 24/7 or w/e there network is now.
And maybe it didn't sell to well because they already released all the Raw's from 93 & 94 on 24/7 plus they already released all of them on wwe.com to watch on there too?
Lets not forget even if it was complete WWE would leave out the good shit like WWF Update and stuff like that. Sucked they never had any of those on the Best of 93/94 set, even as extras.

Very disappointing news on the raw dvd. Really enjoyed the 93/94 dvd and I have the entire sets so was a nice companion piece. Hopefully no more which are planned for this year are dropped, thinking mainly of the Million Dollar Man box set.

Well not so much Volume 4, but most of the Volume 3 events have never been released on DVD (atleast to the best of my knowledge). Can't speak for everyone, but I prefer having these in DVD quality instead of the VHS transfer/PPV broadcast quality I currently have them on.

The anthology one is strange as to why Vol 3 isnt avaliable yet.
