Is the first disc a big documentary of the superstars?

I'm not all that good at writing reviews , but I'll throw in an opinion and answer any questions if you guys want.

Not really a big documentary , but little pieces jumbled together as such , focusing mainly on the 15 stars. Just imagine the Greatest Stars of the 80's set , and having all the profiles on one disc , with matches being on the other two.

I'm a sucker for the docs , and this one wasn't all that bad. But ... as with every WWE release , they always leave out a few important facts , but flood you with everything you don't need. In addition , like the past few releases , this one also seems a little rushed.

The matches were great , and it's a definite plus having a few new ones in the collection. The SummerSlam matches though , I wish they had replaced them with something else. Having just picked up the SummerSlam Anthology , I really didn't want to see those on another new release.

As a fan , it's truly worthy of having in your library , if for anything , because it documents the last of a great era in wrestling.

I'm not a huge fan of WWE dvd releases (with the exception of the Bret Hart dvd), although it seems that they always do a good job with putting a wide variety of matches on their sets.

I think I might torrent this DVD. I'm not sure how keen I'll be on getting it, but it looks quite promising. The downfall for me is the lack of ECW. WWE owns the whole ECW Library, they have every chance to put some of ECW's biggest stars in there, but for whatever reason, they don't.

It could be because they released a bunch of ECW stuff back when they did the first One Night Stand, but they could still do more. I'm still itching to get myself a copy of ECW: Bloodsport, though.

I did enjoy this set, but I do agree with the poster who mentioned the lack of ECW material. You can't tell the story of wrestling in the 90s without ECW, but I'm not shocked WWE chose to omit ECW. I'm surprised WCW got as much footage on here as they did.
